Our story
I came to this land to care for my father.
As I supported him through illness and aging, it became clear that food mattered deeply - not as a set of restrictions, but as a source of strength, nourishment, and healing. What I prepared for him needed to be the very best I could offer. Food had to support the body and mind, not burden it.
That desire shaped everything that followed. And boy did a lot follow!
The garden came first, grown without chemicals and tended with patience and respect for the soil. From the garden grew a deeper understanding of wellness - not as deprivation, but as variety, balance, and care. Good food in vivid natural colors, thoughtfully grown and prepared, and free of chemicals and pesticides, became a way of supporting health in a meaningful, everyday way. Through food, we nourish the body, mind, and soul. But we must also nourish the land from which it grows.
From that garden, the bakery and the pollinator spaces were born. Baking became an extension of nourishment, and caring for the pollinators became inseparable from caring for the food itself. Everything here is connected by the intention to serve what is wholesome, honest, and life-giving.
And finally, what we believe about food
When we talk about diet, we don't mean rules or fear around food. We mean eating well, eating with care, and honoring variety. Not including pesticides and other contaminants alone will go a long way toward improving anyone's wellness. We believe nourishment comes from quality, from diversity, and from knowing how food is grown naturally in a healthy ecosystem.
By tending the land without chemicals and working in rhythm with the seasons, we create food that supports wellness at its roots - starting with the soil, moving through the garden, and ending at the table.
Variety in food can be likened to the ingredients found on the labels of multivitamins - each vegetable, each fruit, brings its own ingredients to the label/table. ;)
